PM Modi speaks to workers rescued from U’khand tunnel; calls it amazing example of teamwork

New Delhi, Nov 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with the workers who were successfully rescued from Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel after 17 days on Tuesday.

PM Modi lauded the rescue mission and the mission which has created an amazing example of teamwork. He also said the multi-agency rescue exercise has made everyone emotional.

“Everyone involved in the mission has created an amazing example of humanity and teamwork,” he said.

While addressing the 41 rescued workers, PM Modi said their courage and patience have inspired everyone and wished them good health and well-being.

Bhoomika Chaudhary, wife of Ankit Kumar who was rescued from Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel said, “We celebrated Diwali soon after we received a call that my husband had been safely rescued. My father has gone to Uttarakhand to bring back my husband.”

The workers who have been rescued have been admitted to the Community Health Center in Uttarakhand’s Chinyalisaur.

The workers were trapped on November 12 after a portion of the Silkyara tunnel, part of the Centre’s ambitious Char Dham project, collapsed due to a landslide.
