Shillong, Jan 7: The East Khasi Hills (EKH) Police team arrested one Havaldar of the Assam Regiment Centre and a lady from Happy Valley, Shillong.
The duo were arrested by the police and a case was filed against them under the NDPS Act. The accused were identified as Havaldar Mukesh Kumar Yadav of the Assam Regiment and Meena Devi of Happy Valley.

Police said, “Based on a source of information that a suspected illegal drug deal was going to take place at Lumpyngad area, the ANTF Team and Laitumkhrah Police, after surveillance, apprehended the drug suppliers.”
The police team seized 2 (Two) soapboxes with Heroin weighing 25gms was recovered from Havaldar Mukesh Kumar Yadav of the Assam Regiment and the female accused, Meena Devi.
They are now in Police custody for further investigation and a case under the NDPS Act has been taken up.
