Shillong, May 2: In another success towards curbing the menace of drug peddling in the State, Police arrested a 30-year-old man with heroin in the city of Shillong on Monday evening.

Vishal Kupar Marngar of Nongstoin Mawkawah West Khasi hills presently staying at Garo Bazar Polo, was stopped by the patrolling party of Pasteur Beat House on suspicion of peddling drugs.

They approached him and searched his body. 17 vials containing heroin and cash Rs. 480 was found from his possession, police said.

ANTF team was rushed to Pasteur BH and conducted legal formalities as per provisions of the NDPS Act. A case has been registered and investigation taken up.
