Shillong, Sept 16: East Khasi Hills Police have issued an advisory urging individuals, social media users, and YouTubers to refrain from uploading and circulating video clips and photographs of the deceased minor girl from Nongrah on social media platforms. The police investigation into the girl’s death is ongoing.

The advisory stated that such thoughtless acts are severely affecting the family members of the victim and society as a whole, showing a lack of respect for the victim and her family.

“In this regard, it is hereby urged to all such individuals, etc, not to upload such posts on any social media platforms, Whatsapp status etc,a nd to take down all such posts immediately which have been uploaded/circulated,” Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said.

“Failing to comply with this advisory shall be viewed very seriously which shall attract serious legal implications on such individuals, groups and youtubers,” he stated further.
