Vincent Pala told Hub News on Monday at Congress Bhawan in Tura that the party plans to try and include a strip of Meghalaya under the yatra when Rahul Gandhi marches into Assam.

“We have suggested the route between Khanapara to Nongpoh for Rahul Gandhi so as to link Meghalaya with the yatra. Currently, the party is surveying the route suggested by the state congress,” informed Pala.

Several thousand Congress supporters from Garo Hills and Khasi Hills also plan to march with Rahul Gandhi when he crosses into Guwahati in Assam.

” Party supporters, workers and even common people who believe in freedom and equality are free to join the yatra when it passes our region,” said Pala.
