Rahul Gandhi criticises PM for ‘ignoring’ civil war-like situation in Manipur

Must read

Guwahati, Jan 18: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Assam’s Sivasagar on Thursday as part of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, marking a crucial phase in the journey.

Addressing a gathering in Sivasagar, Rahul Gandhi expressed his perspective on the Yatra, stating, “We have added the word ‘Nyay’ to the name of this Yatra because we believe that BJP-RSS is perpetuating injustice in every state. There is a civil war-like situation in Manipur, but till today the PM has not visited the state.”

Notably, the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra resumed from Sivasagar, Assam, on the fifth day of its journey. The Yatra covered approximately 1.5 kilometers within Nagaland, reaching the Assam border at 9.30 a.m., marked by a formal ‘flag handover’ at the interstate border.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi emphasised the impact of the Yatra on the people of Assam, stating, “This journey has become a journey of excitement, enthusiasm, and coordination for the people of Assam. The people here are upset because the government here is not the government of the poor and the farmers but of the coal and stone mafia. At this moment, there is frustration among the people that Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and Rahul Gandhi have been able to address.”

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was launched by Congress from the strife torn Manipur.
