Rahul Gandhi says Lok Sabha 2024 fight was to save Indian Constitution

Shillong, June 4: The Indian National Congress (INC) leader, Rahul Gandhi said that the Lok Sabha election 2024 was an election to fight not just with any political party but it was also a fight to ensure the safety of the Indian Democracy.

Speaking to reporters after the announcement of the Lok Sabha polls results, Rahul said the results proved that the people of India have no more faith in the leadership of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister and also Rahul terms the results as the victory of all the citizens and democracy.

The Congress leader who is also the leader of the INDIA block – an alliance led by Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress has gathered over 232 seats. While the NDA alliance of the BJP has gathered a total of 292 seats.

Rahul Gandhi said that the 2024 Lok Sabha election was not just a fight against the political force of the BJP but a fight against to protect the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) which according to Rahul are the institutions that are allegedly misused by the BJP government.

Raising a copy of the Constitution in his hand, Gandhi said, “the fight was to save the Constitution we were sure that the citizens of India would make attempts to guard it and I would like to thank everyone”

He added that the most underprivileged citizens of the country have made the majority efforts to save the constitution. “I am extremely proud of India, I am extremely proud of everyone who has protested to save the constitution, I would like to tell you that the most underprivileged citizens of the country have made the majority efforts to save the constitution — the Dalits, Kisans,” he said.

The India Bloc has made a remarkable comeback and stole many of BJP stronghold especially in Uttar Pradesh.

On the Congress’s victory in Amethi, Rahul said, “the BJP does not respect the people and they do not talk to the people properly but Kishori Lal Sharma has a great relationship with Amethi and its people, so it was clear that he will win. It’s disrespectful to say that he is a PA, he has been working with the people all throughout.”

Gandhi won the Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh by a margin of over 4 lakh seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. With over 670,000 votes, Rahul emerged victorious while Bharatiya Janata Party’s Dinesh Pratap Singh was placed at a distant second position and Bahujan Samaj Party’s Thakur Prasad Yadav third.

The Congress party has also wrested Amethi from BJP, defeating Union minister Smriti Irani.

The Congress and the India Bloc has proven all Political experts, Exit polls wrong. Terming all the predictions as “bogus”, the Opposition INDIA bloc, however, reversing the exit poll predictions, has managed to lead in at least 222 seats, according to the latest numbers.
