Raj Bhavan marks Children’s Day with special event, Guv calls for nurturing young minds

Shillong, Nov 15: Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar attended a special event held at the Raj Bhavan in Shillong to mark the occasion of Children’s Day, along with the Foundation Day Celebrations of the States of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand. The event was a fitting tribute to the children of India and our first Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, while also recognizing the historical significance of these two states.

The Governor, in his address, expressed his admiration for the young minds of the country, emphasizing the importance of education, creativity, and a healthy environment for children’s overall development. He stressed the need to nurture their talents and dreams to shape a better future for the nation. He highlighted that Children are the pillars of our tomorrow, and it is our collective responsibility to provide them with the opportunities and resources to thrive.

The event also witnessed the Governor extending his warm wishes to the people of Uttarakhand and Jharkhand, on their Foundation Days, celebrating the rich history, culture, and achievements of these states since their formation. He also highlighted the remarkable progress both states have made in various sectors, from infrastructure to education, and commended the leadership and citizens for their continued dedication to development.

The celebration was attended by dignitaries, officials, and a large number of school children, who actively participated in cultural performances and other engaging activities that showcased their talents. The event served as a reminder of the importance of unity, education, and social harmony, and underscored the shared commitment of all states in India towards building a brighter future for the nation’s younger generation.
