Itanagar, May 8: In a significant boost to infrastructure and regional connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated four strategic bridges via video conferencing on May 7. The virtual ceremony was held in the presence of Pongchau-Wakka MLA Honchun Ngandan.
The newly inaugurated bridges are the 110-meter span Tissa Bridge on the Pongchau-Konnu-Konsa road, the 80-meter Dri River Bridge on the Anini-Dembuen road, the 80-meter Peepani-I Bridge on the Hayuliang-Metaliang-Chaglohagam road, and the 45-meter Iripani Bridge on the Anini-Mipi road.
The event was attended by senior officials, including Chief Engineer of Project Udayak Rajiv Sharma, Commander of 48 BRTF, government representatives, and local community leaders.

Delivering the welcome address, Rajiv Sharma underscored the significance of the new bridges in enhancing transportation, connectivity, and economic development in remote regions of the state.
In his keynote speech, Honchun Ngandan highlighted the importance of sustainable and strategic infrastructure in ensuring long-term regional growth and security.
The four bridges are expected to serve thousands of commuters daily and facilitate smoother movement of goods and services across these remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
