Shillong, July 13: As a part of the Golden Jubilee of the Cultural Competitions organized by Ramakrishna Mission Shillong, a day long Youth Convention was organised at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre on Saturday.
Around 250 students and teachers from around 22 different institutes joined the programme. The Programme started at 9.00 am and students started reporting for the event from 8 am onwards. Students from far flung areas including Sohra, Shella and Sobhar joined the programme. Swami Bodhmayanada, Adyaksha, Ramakrishna Mission Math and Mission, Hyderabad, Swami Hitakamananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong and Swami Varananada, Principal RKM HS School, Sohra motivated the students through their inspirational speech. Ten selected speakers from amongst the participating institutes spoke on different topics pre-allotted to them. A group discussion also was conducted, in which each and every one participated enthusiastically.
The highlight of the program was an inspirational talk by Sharad Vivek Sagar, CEO of Dexterity Global. He deliberated and also interacted with the participants. There was an interactive session with the resource persons, and meaningful questions were asked by the students on various topics like concentration, leadership qualities etc. The program also involved a few cultural programmes including traditional Khasi Songs and Dances by the students of Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Sohbar and Sohra, and Wangla dance by the students of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Shillong.
