SHILLONG, MAY 29:The Hill State People’s Democratic Party said it is still deliberating its position on the Lok Sabha election and will issue a detailed clarification next week.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, HSPDP general secretary P Ryntathiang said the party has held several discussions with the United Democratic Party but has not reached a final decision.
“We have met several times with the UDP on this matter, but we are yet to take a final call. We are part of the RDA, no doubt, but for now we feel it is better to go into the details regarding the MP election,” he said.

Ryntathiang declined to confirm whether the HSPDP would back a common RDA candidate.
“As of now, I cannot tell you. Discussions are still ongoing within the party. I think by next week we will come out with a detailed clarification on this matter,” he said.
“As of now, I cannot say whether we will support or not. We will give a clarification next week on whether we support or not,” he added.
The UDP has announced the name of senior lawyer Vivanstone G Kharngapkynta as its candidate for the upcoming Shillong Lok Sabha byelection.
