Tura, Feb 13: Meghalaya Government has reshuffled police officers across districts ahead of the announcement of general elections replacing district superintendents of police, including the SPs of Shillong and Tura in an order issued on February 13th.

The East Khasi Hills district Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger, IPS(SPS 2012), has been replaced by Rituraj Ravi, IPS (RR 2013) while Tura SP Abraham T Sangma has been replaced by Dr Dara Aswaghosh, IPS.

The government order states that in the interest of public service and on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board, Sylvester Nongtnger takes charge as Commandant 6th MLP Battalion in Umran, replacing Rituraj Ravi who heads up to Shillong to take charge of East Khasi Hills district.

Shillong City SP Vivek Syiem, IPS(SPS 2015), has also been transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police, CID, Meghalaya, Shillong replacing Pankaj Kumar Rasgania, IPS.

Dr Dara Aswaghosh, IPS(RR 2018), Commandant, 2nd MLP Bn, Goeragre, West Garo Hills, Tura has been transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills District, Tura replacing Abraham T. Sangma, MPS who has been made the new Commandant of 2nd MLP Battalion, Goeragre.

Pankaj Kumar Rasgania, IPS(RR 2020), Superintendent of Police, CID, Meghalaya, Shillong is transferred and posted as the Superintendent of Police(City), Shillong replacing Vivek Syiem, IPS.

Banteilang Kharjana, MPS, Deputy Commandant, 5th MLP Bn, Samanda, East Garo Hills District is transferred and posted as the Additional Superintendent of Police, South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat against the exiting vacancy, with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

Spearsing Paslein, MPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), Ri-Bhoi District, Nongpoh is transferred and posted as the Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat against the existing vacancy, with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

In the interest of Public Service and on the recommendation of the Police Establishment Board (PEB), Anthony Ch. Momin, MPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), East Garo Hills District, Williamnagar is transferred and posted as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Chokpot, South Garo Hills replacing John Clitzer A. Sangma, MPS.

Krison R. Marak, MPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), West Garo Hills District, Tura is transferred and posted as the Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), East Garo Hills District, Williamnagar in place of Anthony Ch. Momin, MPS

John Clitzer A. Sangma, MPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Chokpot, South Garo Hills is transferred and posted as the Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), North Garo Hills District, Resubelpara in place of Sylvester Raksam Marak, MPS.

Sylvester Raksam Marak, MPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), North Garo Hills District, Resubelpara is transferred and posted as the Assistant Commandant, 2nd MLP Bn, Goeragre, West Garo Hills against the existing vacancy, with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

Jeffry W. Sooting, MPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police(City), Shillong is transferred and posted as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Mawshynrut in place of Isaac S.Marak, MPS, who has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Superintendent of Police(Hqr), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong against the existing vacancy, with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.
