Gangtok, Aug 4: In a big political development, Sikkim gets a new minister designate in Rhenock constituency legislator Bishnu Kumar Sharma (Khatiwara) on Friday.
The cabinet shuffle comes after former Health Minister Mani Kumar Sharma resigned from the post of minister in February of this year.
Bishnu Kumar Sharma was sworn in as minister designate  on Friday by Sikkim Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Ashirwad Hall in Raj Bhawan in the presence of Chief Minister Prem Singh Golay and other ministers and legislators.

“It is my honesty, and hard work towards the voters of the constituency, along with the party, that today have been honoured. No body should betray the people or the party. The major works under Rhenock Constituency, which were drinking water, roads, and other necessary infrastructure development, have been carried out with the support of the CM and the State government. With respect to individual welfare, there have been numerous welfare schemes initiated as per the vision of the CM which have been facilitated for the beneficiaries identified,” he said.
