Must read

Shillong, Feb 2: Meghalaya Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui has once again emphasised on the importance of classroom teaching amid concerns of increasing number of school dropouts in the state.

Although not having definite figure in hand, he acknowledged that dropouts are taking place, but assured that the government is working to see that children don’t lose out on education .

At the same time, he stressed on the need of classroom teaching and that there is a massive difference between online and classroom teaching.

“Classroom teaching must be done and that’s why we’ve already given the order that schools can be reopened and in urban areas from class 6 above they can reopen. Classroom teaching is a must for engaging students. The students interaction with the teacher and his classmates… that enhances his capability and capacity of learning,” Rymbui said.
