Must read

Tura, Sept 27: Former Chief Minister Salseng C. Marak has urged new MPCC President Vincent Pala to put up a strong and united Congress front as the party gets ready to contest state elections in less than two years from now.“He (Salseng) told Pala to strengthen the Congress and work as a united team for the upcoming elections in 2023. There should be no differences with anyone and all issues must be solved through dialogue, even if that means reaching out,” said Deborah C Marak, former Williamnagar MLA and ex-minister, who was present at the meeting between Pala and Salseng C. Marak at Resubelpara on Monday morning when the new MPCC president called on him to seek his blessings.

Congress MLA from Mendipathar constituency Marthon Sangma was also present at the meeting that included other MPCC members too.

Deborah Marak also said that her uncle would no longer contest elections on account of his age. Salseng Marak has touched 80 years. He has won from Resubelpara constituency multiple times but was defeated by NPP leader Timothy D Shira in the last elections held in 2018.
