Ampati, Aug 14: The District Health Society in partnership with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) successfully conducted a nutritional support event at Mahendraganj Community Health Centre (CHC) on Monday. The event aimed to provide nutritional food items to Tuberculosis (TB) patients in the region.

The event witnessed the presence of Mahendraganj MLA Sanjay A. Sangma, who generously donated nutritional food items to TB patients in the area and also personally distributed the food items to the beneficiaries.

During the event, Sangma inaugurated significant medical enhancements at Mahendraganj CHC. This included the installation of an Ultrasound Machine, a CCTV system, and an amplifier, marking an important step towards improved healthcare facilities in the region.

Attendees of the event, including local leaders, medical professionals, and the public, collectively pledged their commitment to eliminating Tuberculosis from the region. The united efforts of the community are aimed at achieving a TB-free future.

Sangma expressed his gratitude towards the medical fraternity for their proactive efforts in the fight against TB. He assured them that the demand for a new ambulance would be fulfilled before Christmas, underscoring his dedication to serving the people as their representative. He also promised to address the hospital’s needs, emphasizing his commitment to the well-being of the community.

Additionally, he appealed for the support of local leaders and the general public to collaborate in the collective mission to eliminate TB, emphasizing their crucial role in ensuring a successful outcome in the battle against this disease.

In the pursuit of improved healthcare infrastructure, the medical fraternity raised the need for an X-ray machine and additional pharmacist support, which were acknowledged during the event.
