Scarcity of blood in the blood bank, leads Tripura government to organise voluntary blood donation camp

Tripura, June 14: On World Blood Donor Day 2024, Tripura government organised a voluntary blood donation camp on Friday at Radhanagar Motor Stand in Agartala. The camp was participated by Transport, Food and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, 43 individuals have donated blood till filing of this report.

Speaking to reporters, Sushanta Chowdhury said, “It is state governments initiatives to organise as many as blood donation camps in Tripura to balance the scarcity of bloods in hospitals. Under the initiative of chief minister Dr Manik Saha, the government has been promoting voluntary blood donations.”

“We have already spoken with NGOs, clubs and organisations and are getting good response from them to organise such initiatives . During Covid-19 period the blood donations camps were not organised but now again we have started the blood donations camps to maintain the balance of blood in hospitals. We are going to every blood donation camp to inspire the blood donors to give blood,” he said.

He further added, “Today, the blood donation camp was organised by our ISDT at Radhanagar and we have seen their enthusiasm to donate blood. We urged everyone to come forward to donate blood.”
