Scuffle between traders in Tura bazar, one killed

Tura, Jan 7: A heated argument between two areca nut vendors took a tragic turn on Tuesday morning at the Supermarket area, opposite the MTC bus stand in Tura.

According to the police, the incident began at approximately 11:32 am with a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, one of the vendors attacked the other with a Garo Dao, leaving the victim severely injured in the abdomen area.

The two individuals are identified as Minurul Islam (24) and Jaha Uddin, who are uncle and nephew, and residents of Risipara in Tura.

The injured, Jaha Uddin, was rushed to Tura Civil Hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries upon arrival.

Police personnel promptly arrived at the scene, apprehended Minurul Islam, and seized the weapon involved in the incident.

An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the altercation.
