Shillong, Sept 2: The second accused allegedly involved in the Malki rape case has been arrested by Laitumkhrah police from Smit.
The accused identified as Kitbok Reuben Mawthoh had been absconding since Saturday afternoon. He was caught on Monday.
As per sources, the accused was arrested from Smit area at around 2:00 AM on Monday morning following an intensive manhunt.
It may be mentioned that a rape case was filed on Friday night by a woman, in which she accused two men. On Saturday, the Laitumkhrah Police apprehended one of the accused, identified as 19-year-old Andy Malngiang, who has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
