Shillong, Sept 13: The Seng ki Nong Mawlai on Tuesday announced that the failure regarding the case of (L) Cheristerfield Thangkhiew has been from the police department.

Rapborlang Nongrum, General Secretary of KSU Mawlai circle said, according to the report presented to them, it has clearly shown that the police department has failed and used excessive force to raid the deceased’s house in the middle of the night.

“We are here today to show that the report is against the police and the government should suspend those people who were involved in killing Bah Cheristerfield Thangkhiew,” he said.

He further mentioned that in the report that was given to them, names of the police officials were not provided and it has been seen that the family of (L) Cheristerfield Thangkhiew has accepted the report.

However, the Seng ki Nong Mawlai on Tuesday said that they demand the government to suspend concerned individuals and file a criminal proceeding against the officers involved in the killing of Cheristerfield Thangkhiew on the August 13, 2021.

Khrawkupar Nongsiej, president of FKJGP Mawlai and Sanbor Rapsang, President of HNYF Mawlai circle were also present at the press briefing.
