Senior Cong leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra says BJP govt running “mafia raj” in NE state

Guwahati, May 1: Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra came down heavily on the BJP-led Assam government of fostering a “mafia raj” in the Northeast state.

Priyanka campaigned in Dhubri for Congress candidate Rakibul Hussain, who has been contesting from Dhubri Lok Sabha seat.

Speaking at an election rally in Dhubri, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for maintained a covert alliance with Badruddin Ajmal of the AIUDF.

“In just 10 years, the BJP has become the wealthiest party globally, while the Congress didn’t amass such wealth even in 70 years,” Priyanka stated.

Gandhi lambasted the BJP on the issue of electoral bonds, citing the party’s exponential financial growth within a decade compared to Congress’ earnings over 70 years.

Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra campaigned for Jorhat Lok Sabha candidate Gaurav Gogoi in Jorhat which saw a large number of crowds. She held a roadshow in Jorhat.

The Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency had ten assembly segments earlier now has 11 Assembly segments after delimitation. The Legislative assembly constituency segments in the constituency are: Golokganj, Dhubri, Birsing Jarua, Gauripur, Bilasipara, Mankachar, Jaleswar, Goalpara East, Srijangram, Mandia, and Chenga.
