Must read

Williamnagar, Jan 14: A devastating fire broke out early this morning, opposite Williamnagar Civil Hospital, gutting seven shops completely.

It was informed that the fire, which started at approximately 3:30 a.m., left the owners in shock and despair as their livelihoods turned to ashes.

According to Mohini Marak, one of the affected shop owners from Rukalgre village, the blaze erupted suddenly and despite the immediate response from Williamnagar’s Fire and Emergency Services, all seven shops were beyond saving. “Four of the shops belonged to me,” said Mohini, adding that the total losses from her shops alone amounted to approximately ₹4 lakhs.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, as Mohini, who was present at the scene, could not determine how it started. “One person tried to assist me in putting out the flames, but the fire was too fierce to control,” she said.

Williamnagar FireAdding to the intensity of the blaze, two LPG cylinders exploded during the fire, which likely accelerated its spread. The explosions caused further damage, making it nearly impossible for anyone to intervene effectively.
