Guwahati, April 26: At least seventeen individuals have been arrested across different northeastern states for making anti-national comments, either in person or online, following Tuesday’s terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 dead.
The arrestees include an MLA, a journalist, students and student leaders, a lawyer from Assam, a lawyer from Meghalaya, and four individuals from Tripura. The arrests have taken place since Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Assam Chief Minister announced today that those found directly or indirectly supporting Pakistan would face charges under the National Security Act (NSA).
