Shillong, June 12: Shillong based senior journalist Mehraj Sameer Sohliya breathed his last at his residence in Shillong on Saturday afternoon after a prolonged illness. He was 46.
He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.
He was working for Assam-based English newspaper The Sentinel for a very long time.
He was also an active member of the Shillong Press Club.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma condoled his demise saying he was a well-read, well-spoken and courteous person.

The Meghalaya journalist fraternity has expressed shock at the sudden demise of the senior journalist, who was fondly called Bah Sameer, and offered their condolences.
Members of Shillong Press Club have also condoled the untimely demise of the senior journalist.
