Shillong, Nov 8: The Sikh community in Shillong observed the 553rd Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev on Tuesday.
The Sikh Centre Sri Guru Singh Sabha observed the day by offering prayers with religious fervour and organising ‘langar’ for the Sikh faithfuls.
Meghalaya Governor BD Mishra had extended his greetings on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti 2022. In a statement, he also exhorted one and all to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev and rededicate to the cause of humanism, justice and brotherhood. “May we imbibe the noble teachings of the Guru in our daily lives and strengthen the bonds of unity and solidarity in our society,” he said.
