Shillong, Mar 31: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday announced that Meghalaya will be hosting the 83rd National Table Tennis Championship from April 18-25, 2022 at SAI Indoor Training Centre, NEHU.

He said this is one of the biggest tournaments ever hosted in the State & will be the 2nd biggest Table Tennis tournament held in the North East.
Hosting this tournament is expected to cost the government around Rs. 1.5 crore and a total of 10 players from Meghalaya are expected to participate in it.
The CM said the state is expecting a large number of participants and dignitaries from other states including the deputy chief minister of Haryana who is also the president of the Haryana Table Tennis Association and also responsible for the event taking place in Shillong.
He said close to 650 participants are expected in the tournament of which 450 will be players and the rest will be coaches and supporting staff.
