Shillong, Feb 14: Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love and romance. People celebrate the day on February 14 every year by exchanging gifts and wishes with their partners.

The ‘Day of Love’ was also celebrated in Shillong on Monday along with the rest of the world. Red roses were sold in different parts of the city and many youngsters were seen expressing their love to their beloved.Starting February 7, the Valentine’s Week commences with the Rose Day, followed by Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Hug Day, Kiss Day and finally Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day originated as a Christian feast day to but is now celebrated across the world as a day of love.
