Shillong, Oct 2: The Shillong Sports Association (SSA) football league is back in action after a year and a half without regular football because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the U-20 Fourth Division 2021 season kick off on Saturday with the match played between Pomlakrai and Mawnianglah in Group A at Second Ground, Polo.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Havertson Thawmuit scored the opener for Mawnianglah in the 15th minute but this was cancelled out by Phyrnaiboklang Sohtun’s goal in the 50th.
The Fourth Division is the lowest rung in the SSA’s football pyramid. There are 15 participating teams in all – Groups A, B and D have four teams each, with Group C having just three.
