Guwahati, May 8: In a stirring blend of flavour and patriotism, a new handcrafted tea from Assam—Sindoor Tea—was launched this week by Aromica Tea Pvt. Ltd., Guwahati, as a tribute to India’s armed forces and their recent precision strike across the border, Operation Sindoor.
This export-quality tea, curated with Assam’s signature golden orthodox and robust CTC black tea, was born not just in the rolling hills of the Northeast but in a moment of collective national emotion. The inspiration came in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, which claimed 26 innocent lives. Days later, the Indian Armed Forces responded with Operation Sindoor—a name that stirred both resolve and remembrance.
Moved by the act of valour, Ranjit Baruah, Director of Aromica Tea, felt compelled to respond in the language he knew best—tea.
“We were filled with pride,” Baruah said. “The armed forces avenged the loss of 26 innocent citizens and upheld the honour of sindur—a symbol of strength and dignity for millions of Indian women. This tea is our tribute.”
Sindoor Tea is more than a beverage—it’s a statement. Blended by a group of local women workers, its name symbolises both the traditional vermilion mark of marital pride and the red of sacrifice and courage.
