Tura, Apr 21: A social media post on X by a user of Legal Rights Observatory has sensationalised the recent rape on two minors by a group of men during the recently held Chenga Benga Mela at Gandhipara near Garobadha in South West Garo Hills.
The post claims that 25 jihadis raped four minor Hindu girls. The post is going viral with a misinformation campaign.

Hub News is giving out the facts on the horrific incident that took place on April 16 evening, and the accused in 12–15 attacked the two girls and two boys. As per the medical examination, one of the girls was raped.
Meghalaya police have registered the case, and an SIT probe has been ordered into the matter.
