Guwahati, Apr 21: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Borah on Sunday challenged Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to resign if Gaurav Gogoi wins Jorhat parliamentary constituency.

The remark comes in wake of claims that Gaurav Gogoi will lose Jorhat and BJP will win the seat.

Addressing media in Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati, Borah said, “I challenge Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to resign from the post of CM if Gaurav Gogoi wins the Jorhat Lok Sabha seat.

Borah said that Sarbananda Sonowal will lose Dibrugarh seat badly, especially because of CAA, Dibrugarh was the center of CAA.

Borah stated that “Chief Minister has lost his memory and has also lost his speech. On every stage the CM drops the microphone and starts dancing. As a Chief Minister, why don’t you speak on the issues of unemployment, why don’t you speak on other crucial issues.”

Borah further explained that “if the CM has to dance then he should watch film. CM post should be given to others. He should join Bihu groups. Why is he involved in politics. Politicians need to understand their duties and responsibilities… we are not entertainers.”
