Assam Rifles jawan killed, four injured in suspected IED blast in Nagaland’s Chümoukedima

Kohima, July 13: One Assam Rifles jawan was killed and four others were injured in a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Nagaland’s Chümoukedima district on Monday, official sources said.

The explosion reportedly occurred near Sukhovi, where the Assam Rifles has a training centre, while security personnel were moving through the area.

The injured personnel were rushed for medical treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.

Following the blast, security forces launched a massive search operation in and around the area to track those responsible. The cause of the explosion is yet to be officially confirmed.
