Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has announced a landmark decision by the state cabinet to introduce structured pay scales, annual increments, and job security for over 23,000 adhoc and SSA teachers in Meghalaya.
Commissioner & Secretary in-charge Education Vijay Kumar Mantri on Monday met the agitating adhoc teachers under the banner of the Federation of Adhoc School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM), who have been staging their indefinite sit-in-demonstration for the past 192 hours.
The Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) will organise its general meeting at the new Nongstoin Football playground in Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills on October 7.
