The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act 1958 (AFSPA) has been extended in parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland for another six months starting on October 1.

The Assam cabinet on Friday evening decided to recommend to the Central Government to withdraw Disturbed Areas Act and Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from the entire State.
