GHADC Chief clarifies on salary status, says 34 months of salary paid

In response to recent enquiries and speculations, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Albinush R Marak has stressed that the current Executive Committee (EC) is committed towards paying the salaries of its dedicated employees.

Fear of strike compels GHADC authorities to hasten salary release

On the eve of a three days protest strike by hundreds of employees of the GHADC to vent their anger against the Executive committee for their repeated delays in releasing just two months of dues, out of the 31 pending months, the Albinush Marak led EC has moved into top gear pushing salaries into waiting accounts of the staff prompting the workers to call off their stir that was proposed to take off from Tuesday.

Threat of agitation looms in GHADC after deadline to pay 30 months dues fails

A meeting of the employees association is scheduled to take place on Monday in Tura where the leaders will spell out their next step of agenda with all indications towards a strike by the staff that will effectively shut down the functioning of the oldest political institution in the Garo Hills.

Not paid salaries for 30 months, GHADC employees warn of strike

The GHADC employees numbering several hundred have not been paid salaries for 30 long months. The last time they received their dues was only for two months this year.
