In another major setback for the North Eastern region towards self-sufficiency in power generation, a massive landslide has hit the 2,000 Mega Watt (MW) Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project in Arunachal Pradesh.
A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Arunachal Pradesh, with tremors felt in the neighbouring areas, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre.
Following the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), the Arunachal Pradesh cabinet on Wednesday approved the constitution of a Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) for the three tiger reserves of the state: Namdapha, Pakke, and Kamlang.
