Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Union ministers Sarbananda Sonowal and Rameshwar Teli, and several others attended the event.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday visited the bereaved family members of the Golaghat triple murder case and assured stringent punishment to the accused involved in the heinous crime.
The Aam Aadmi Party blamed the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Haryana of hatching a conspiracy to plunge the national capital into a flood crisis by releasing water from the Hathnikund Barrage.
Sarma said indigenous and tribal faith and culture of the State have been prevalent for thousands of years and that all should come together to ensure these heritages are preserved for eternity without any dilution.
After the release of water, Western Assam districts like Chirang, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur, Nalbari and Baksa which is situated in the downstream areas will have to face problems after water released from hydropower dams and heavy rains on the upper reaches of Bhutan.
