The state government has decided to put on hold the proposed construction of the skywalk from Barik point in the city following an assessment report, which indicated that going ahead with the project will lead to massive traffic congestion.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Saturday said that the government has identified close to 25 acres of land to implement various infrastructure projects aimed to give an overall facelift to Shillong city, vis-à-vis beautify and decongest.
