Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said there is nothing to debate on the topic of 'Bharat' because the Supreme Court in 2016 had announced that 'India and Bharat' can be interchangeable.
In a groundbreaking address, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat called upon the citizens of Bharat to shift from using "India" to "Bharat" in a stirring speech delivered during a public event in Guwahati on Friday evening.
Hours after the opposition parties renamed their alliance as INDIA, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma removed the word "India" from his Twitter bio and changed it to Bharat.
