The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is extending facility under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between NEIGRIHMS and the CGHS on 25th February 2025, marking a historic achievement for the institution and healthcare access in the North Eastern region of India.

Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Monday informed that the government of Meghalaya is proposing to provide ‘cashless health card’ for government employees.
