This decision by the state cabinet led by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh comes a day after two civilians were killed and over 50 people were injured in a clash with security forces in Pallel town of Tengnoupal district.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, who holds the home portfolio, confirming the arrest, said that investigation is currently underway and the government would ensure strict action is taken against all the perpetrators, including considering the possibility of capital punishment.
