A delegation of 11 political parties from Assam, headed by Congress, on Friday staged a sit-in protest in front of the office of Election Commission of India (ECI) after they were not allowed to meet the Chief Election Commissioner.
The three MLAs who were suspended by the Assembly Speaker Biswabandh Sen for the day are CPI(M) legislator Nayan Sarkar, Congress' Sudip Roy Barman and three Tipra Motha MLAs.
His statement comes at a time when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has landed in Imphal on Thursday morning. He will in the violence hit state on Thursday and Friday.
