Meghalaya’s Social Welfare Minister, Paul Lyngdoh, on Friday informed that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) as a ‘neutral’ force will only be deployed in ‘highly sensitive locations’ where troubles have broken out or have the potential of conflict escalation.
Meghalaya and Assam have decided to deploy Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the inter-state boundary, especially at sensitive locations, following the recent spate of violence between the local communities.
The event witnessed warm response from Garo youth as reflected with participation of more than four dozen bikes, despite being a Sunday with heavy rains.
