Raising alarm over China's construction of the world’s largest dam on the Brahmaputra in Tibet, Assam BJP president and Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia warned on Monday that the project could have devastating consequences for Assam and the entire Northeast.
Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia is poised to become the next president of the Assam BJP. Saikia was the sole candidate to file a nomination for the post on Thursday, with an official announcement of his appointment expected on Friday.
