The Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal, Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, will visit Tura from February 28 to March 1 in what Church authorities describe as the first visit by a Vatican Ambassador to the Garo Hills.
Following the passing of Pope Francis on Monday morning, the Diocese of Tura has officially entered a period of nine days of mourning, in accordance with the directives of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) and the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI).
“The Face of the Faceless”, produced by Tri Light Creations, recounts the incredible true story of Sister Rani Maria’s inspiring journey of faith, courage, and service.
The event encapsulated profound spirituality, reinforcing the significance of the Eucharist and resonating a strong sense of community and worship among the faithful in and around the Diocese of Tura.
The Diocese of Tura's four-day Jubilee celebration aims to bring together even more faithful followers, testifying to their unwavering faith. The hope is that the Diocese of Tura will continue to grow in strength, faith, and love as it moves forward into its next half-century.
The event served as a platform to raise awareness about the distressing treatment of women in Manipur and to call for peaceful solutions to the issues facing the region.
