Narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances with a value of 4 crore were incinerated at the Star Cement Plant in Lumshnong in East Jaintia Hills District on Friday.
The DGP of Meghalaya, Dr. LR Bishnoi, while addressing a press conference on the Monday mob attack incident in Tura, said that the Tura Police have found that it was a preplanned conspiracy to attack CM Conrad Sangma and cause physical damage.
The DGP informed that one team of Meghalaya police is stationed in Guwahati for the last 15-20 days and with the help of Assam police, they are raiding their houses.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday congratulated Meghalaya Police for their awareness programs on drug abuse amongst the people of the state.
