In a major crackdown, three drug peddlers including two women were arested from Mizoram's Champhai district and 11.39 kg methamphetamine tablets and 218 grams of heroin were recovered from their posession.

Acting on credible information regarding a possible drug consignment, Assam's Special Task Force (STF) seized 87.4 grams of suspected heroin and arrested six drug peddlers at Amtola in Sonapur on Saturday morning.
From their possession, heroin – 1.13 gms, 417 empty vials, 39 unused syringes, 2 mobile phones and 1 Tata Intra pick up bearing No. ML 05 Z 9479, were seized.
The drug peddlers have been identified as Sourabh Nath (34) and Mohammad Nur Ahmed (39). Nath and Ahmed are residents of northern Tripura, adjoining Mizoram and Bangladesh.
