Amidst this disaster, various agencies, including the Assam Rifles, have been at the forefront of rescue and relief efforts. The 18th Assam Rifles battalion has played a crucial role, launching "Operation Jal Rahat" to rescue residents from remote, flood-affected areas across the Unakoti and Gomati districts.
At least seven lives have been lost in the flood in Tripura. Two others are reported missing. Rescue operations have been launched to trace the missing persons.
Chief Minister Dr. Sarma visited Palashbari in Kamrup district and took stock of the situation. He visited three relief camps, spending time with the flood victims to assess the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation measures being undertaken by the government.
