A high-level meeting of the constituted Committee for the Preservation of Garo Culture and Heritage will be chaired by cabinet minister Marcuise N Marak at Tura Circuit House on April 15.
The festival, named "Tyisam," holds cultural significance as it translates to "by the river side" in the language of the Atong sub-tribe of the Garo people.
