Gauhati HC orders CBI probe into areca nut smuggling in Mizoram

The Gauhati High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe into the alleged smuggling of dry areca nuts from Myanmar into India through Champhai district of eastern Mizoram.

Justice Susmita Phukan Khaound and Justice Mitali Thakuria Elevated as Permanent Judges of Gauhati HC

A Law Ministry notification said Justices Susmita Phukan Khaound and Mitali Thakuria, Additional Judges of the Gauhati High Court, have been made Judges of that HC with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.
